The purpose of Growing Tree Preschool & Mother’s Day Out is to provide a creative learning experience for children in a Christian environment. We seek to provide an atmosphere in which children can grow spiritually, socially, mentally, physically and emotionally to his/her future potential.

Growing Tree offers a developmental program designed to help children develop to their fullest. Our philosophy is that a child’s growth, emotional and mental well-being is best promoted by teachers who love, teach and care for children in a way that demonstrates God’s love and care.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Part-time Assistant Preschool Teacher/Classroom Support

QUALIFICATIONS

*Be at least 18 years of age
*Have a high school degree or GED
*Be an active member of a Christian Church
*Have at least 1 year of experience working with young children
*Submit to background check
*Be mentally and physically capable of caring for a large group of children alone in a classroom

*Possess a strong work ethic, be punctual, and have minimal absences
*Have an awareness of the unique needs of young children and have appropriate expectations of their abilities
*Be available to work Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Wednesday 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

REQUIRED EXPECTATIONS

*Ensure the safety and well-being of each child by responding to their emotional, social, and physical needs as well as their educational needs
*Utilize developmentally appropriate practices and best practice methods at all times
*Be warm and nurturing with children

*Be a positive role model for all care giving staff and children
*Be customer service oriented and professional
*Be able to lift and/or carry children weighing up to 50 lbs, as well as bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, reach and stretch

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

*Assist in implementing program curriculum
*Assist in setting up and facilitating daily activities.
*Relate to children in a calm, caring, nurturing manner, using appropriate child guidance techniques at all times.
*Communicate with lead teacher regarding all aspects of children’s care as well as classroom management
*Clean tabletops with sanitizing solution before and after snack/lunch
*Sweep floors after meals and vacuum classroom daily
*Appropriately supervise children while keeping them safe at all times
*Clean bathrooms daily and as needed. Empty trash cans when full and at end of day.

Pay:

$9.00-$12.00/hour (based on experience)
